New Twitter Account (@nat_vaughn)
I am exploring Twitter as a communication and resource tool for our Blake community. What is Twitter? It is basically a microblog of 140 characters...so a post is called a tweet. In addition to my blog, I will be tweeting up-to-date information, Blake happenings, links to sites, and articles of interest on a daily or more frequent basis. There two ways to get my tweets...
1. Go to this link: https://twitter.com/nat_vaughn where you'll be able to see all my tweets without a twitter account.
2. To get the 'real feel' for Twitter- you should sign up for your own twitter account and follow me. This works well when you use the twitter app to get the live feed.
Here are two links that may be of interest or of help regarding Twitter...

Paperwork to sign-up will be available near the end of October. Students participating will be expected to attend a mandatory meeting on January 2nd from 2:15 -2:45. If a student is renting, staff from Nashoba Vally Ski Area will be available to fit your student on December 15th from 2:15-2:45. Please email Eileen Hurley at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
Nature's Classroom
The students and staff left without a hitch this morning and we will be sure to update parents/guardians throughout the week. I would like to thank and recognize Judy Silva, Tricia Williams, and Kelly Campbell for all of their work over the last several months, helping to prepare for a safe and beneficial experience for our students. The anticipated arrival back at Blake is Friday around 3 p.m. Parents/guardians should park in the parking lots and not around the flagpole circle. Please be mindful to leave a clean pathway for all of the busses to pull into the drive and park around the flagpole, assuring a safe smooth arrival for the students and staff.
Blake Football Team
The Blake football team ran up against an athletic Brookline squad last week and dropped a hard fought contest. Your Warriors showed continued improvement in their tackling and their offensive play-making as they stopped the visitors on their first possession and then moved the ball right down the field for the gameís initial score. The touchdown came on a nice fourth down pass play into the right back corner of the end zone. Some adjustments by the Brookline squad combined with a key Medfield injury resulted in the next three scores of the game going against Medfield and led to the Brookline victory. Medfieldís hard work at practice paid off over the course of the game with better individual and team play resulting in several long runs from scrimmage, some very nicely executed pass plays, a fumble recovery, and an interception. This week, the Warriors will continue to work on blocking and tackling fundamentals as they prepare to play a very tough Westwood team at home on Wednesday the 10th. With the 7th graders away for Natureís Classroom, the 8th graders will face a stiff challenge but are prepared to give their best effort on their home turf. Come on out and support your team!
